What’s provided vs. what you pay extra for
A standard MyArctic snowmobile trip includes:
- The snowmobile itself, fuelled, with two guests sharing one machine as standard (a single-snowmobile upgrade is available if you’d rather drive alone)
- Full snowmobile clothing: suit, helmet, balaclava, gloves, boots
- Snowmobile insurance, with a fixed excess (around 8,000 NOK) rather than open-ended liability
- A guide carrying full safety equipment: rifle, flare gun, GPS, satellite communicator, first aid kit
What isn’t included: flights and standard travel insurance (arrange these yourself before arriving), and any food beyond what’s specified for that particular trip. On multi-day packages, a burger and beer at a Longyearbyen restaurant runs roughly 300–350 NOK if you’re budgeting for meals outside what’s covered.
Typical cost breakdown
Single-day snowmobile trips are priced individually and aren’t published as a fixed rate, they vary by route length and season, so the current price is worth confirming directly when you enquire. Our multi-day guided packages, which include a full snowmobile expedition day among several others, run from roughly 20,000 to 24,000 NOK depending on length (5 to 7 days) and what’s bundled in alongside it: accommodation, breakfast, one lunch, airport transfers, search-and-rescue insurance, and 24-hour guide assistance on call.
One less thing to budget for: a licence
